Sea Ice levels have been much in the news the last few days, with some scientists suggesting that the North Pole may be clear of ice later this year. As will become clear in future posts, I'm skeptical of environmental alarmists in general, and those who seek to use it to justify draconian governmental regulations in particular.
One authority that I do trust and respect though is Steve McIntyre over at ClimateAudit.org. Steve is the person who exposed major statistical flaws in the now discredited "hockey stick" graph that Al Gore made famous in An Inconvenient Truth and, unlike many of the alarmists, he's open about the calculations and methodologies that drive his conclusions.
